With faith and hope in the Resurrection, we celebrate Sister Mary Cyril Murray, OLM, who was called to new life in Christ on March 28, 2024.
Sister was 90 years of age and in her 73rd year of religious life. May she and all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Many people fondly remember her as “Sister Moped.”
Charleston Catholic & OLM Community Outreach
The Charleston Catholic School welcomed Jermaine Husser, Executive Director of Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, to the school in January 2024. Husser talked to students about the history of the OLMs, how they help their neighbors in need, and how students can become involved by donating and volunteering for the community.

Sister Ann Billard gave a presentation on the charism of charity to the Our Lady of Mercy Associates Partners in Charity at Nativity Church on James Island, Sept. 15, 2023.
Sister Mary Joseph Ritter awarded Community Impact Recognition
Sister Mary Joseph Ritter, General Superior, was presented with the Community Impact Recognition Award on July 25, 2023. It was given by the Historic Rotary Club of Charleston in recognition of her service above self to the community, in the spirt of the Beatitudes.
The Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy celebrated the 2021 Jubilarians on September 24, the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy.

Sister Carol with students who attended the Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Yes I Can program when they were in elementary school. Left to Right: Augustin Carapia, Kimberly Tovar, Jesus Hernandaz and Esmeralda Sanchez will be graduating high school his month. All will be attending college in the Fall.

A lovely concert of Irish songs was presented at the Motherhouse for the OLMs and guests.
The audience joined in with clapping and singing!
The concert was enjoyed by all!

April 4, 2017-Nutrition Education
Clinical Dietician Andrea Zalno, a 2010 Graduate of Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, provided very useful nutrition informtion to the sisters. Seton Hill is run by the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill, a member congregation of the Sisters of Charity Federation. Sisters Anne Francis Campbell, Mary Joseph Ritter, Carol Wentworth, Rosemary Boyd, Maureen Tzinieris and Mary Thomas Neal enjoyed the program.
